Western University of Health Sciences
30th Anniversary Celebration

Continuing the Legacy of Excellence through Learning and Discovery

Western University of Health Sciences is a thriving center for medical, health care, and veterinary education, as well as research and community outreach. Chartered 30 years ago on the foundation of educating health care professionals to be skillful and compassionate, the University has grown to successfully incorporate five colleges: the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (COMP) (1977), the College of Allied Health Professions (1996), the College of Pharmacy (1996), the College of Graduate Nursing (1997) and the College of Veterinary Medicine (2003).

With the success of these five professional colleges, the University is poised to move into its next 30 years in an unprecedented and visionary way: three new colleges within the next decade. These colleges—the College of Dental Medicine, the College of Optometry, and the College of Podiatric Medicine—will further position WesternU to comprehensively and successfully meet the diverse health-related needs of a growing population in the West.

This year, WesternU is celebrating its Anniversary year by hosting a wide array of events and activities. Since its founding, WesternU has built a rich tradition of academic excellence, patient-centered education, life-long learning, and professional leadership. In commemorating this landmark anniversary year, the University is not only recognizing its dynamic alumni, diverse student body, and the contributions of the Board of Trustees, University partners and friends over the past three decades, but also presenting a bold plan of expansion and growth for the future.

All alumni, students, faculty, and friends of the University are invited to celebrate with us by participating in the many events and programs scheduled for this year. We hope that you will join us in celebrating these accomplishments and partner with us as we continue our mission of being a pioneering leader in health professions education.
