Each weekday, of National Health Education Week will highlight a different theme:

• Wednesday, October 19: Healthcare System: Practice Changes to Improve Health Literacy

• Friday, October 21: Public Health: A Population-Based Approach to Health Literacy

GET READY DAY: DISASTER AND EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS is September 20, 2011
In celebration of the American Public Health Associations' 5th Annual Get Ready Day the Department of Health Sciences Education will be hosting Disaster and Emergency Preparedness Information Booths on the Western University of Health Sciences Campus, HSC-Health Sciences Center Esplanade on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. There will be free giveaway’s, a raffle for a chance to win an Emergency Kit and lifesaving information. Please go to www.ready.gov for additional details on disaster preparedness. Have you been worried that you will have a hard time finding work in your chosen field that will have a salary and benefits that will provide you what you need? There are several ways to find employment, such as searching the want ads in the local newspaper, searching online job sites, asking friends or family, or going to potential job sites. Some search strategies will be more effective than others and all should be explored in order to facilitate the best options possible employment. Some practical Web sites that you may be able to use in your quest for the perfect job.
