Western University of Health Sciences Alumni Western University of Health Sciences

Association History

The Alumni Association was founded on June 12, 1982, as the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (COMP) Alumni Association. In the early 1990s, the College had grown to include a School of Allied Health Professions and the future College of Pharmacy. In August 1996, Dr. Philip Pumerantz officially announced the formation of Western University of Health Sciences, and the Association was renamed as the WesternU Alumni Association. Today, the Office of Alumni Relations carries on the alumni programs, communication and engagement started by the Association more than 30 years ago.

The purpose of WesternU’s Office of Alumni Relations is to engage alumni in the continuing advancement of WesternU by fostering a lifelong, mutually beneficial relationship between and among alumni and the University.
