  • Narrative

Dr. Fisher is a 1983 graduate of COMP. She completed an osteopathic internship at Eastmoreland General Hospital, Portland, OR and Internal Medicine residency at Emanuel Hospital and Health Center (now known as Legacy Emanuel Hospital), Portland, OR. After a stint with the US Public Health Service (National Health Service Corps at Yakima Valley Farmworkers' Clinic), Dr. Fisher practiced Internal Medicine for another 20+ years in Portland, Oregon. She was in private practice until 2009 when she sold her practice to Adventist Medical Group. Prior to leaving her clinical practice and joining COMP-Northwest in 2013 full time as Director of Clinical Education, she served COMP-Northwest as a Clerkship Director for Portland Adventist, a preceptor, a member of the applicant interview panel, and occasional Essentials of Clinical Medicine instructor. As Director of Clinical Education, she gets to work with physicians around Oregon, Washington and Idaho, inspiring them to become preceptors of third and fourth year medical students and teaching Preceptors and Clinical Faculty how to teach in today's medical environment and still get home in time for dinner. Over the years she has served on Oregon's Health Resources Commission, Chief of Staff and Board of Trustees of Eastmoreland Hospital, Physician Advisory Board and Patient Safety Committee of NW Physicians Mutual Insurance Company. She is currently an appointed member of the Oregon Medical Board. She spends free time with her family and dogs, hiking, gardening, Pilates (faithfully since 2003), reading, enjoying live theater and warm tropical places.
