Welcome to the Accommodations and Resource Center (AARC) for Students with Disabilities a division of the Harris Family Center for Disability Issues and Health Policy(CDHP) at Western University of Health Sciences. AARC is dedicated to providing students with disabilities the support and services needed for the opportunity to study in the health are professions. AARC is the designated office that maintains disability-related documents, determines eligibility for academic accommodations, determines reasonable accommodations and develops plans for the provisions of such accommodations for students attending Western University of Health Sciences.
Our staff encourages academically qualified students with disabilities to utilize all the appropriate accommodations. No individual shall be discriminated against on the basis of disabilities in the full and equal enjoyment of goods, services, facilities, privileges, advantages or accommodations as required under Title III-Public accommodations Owned by Private Entities of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.

Bookshare.org provides accessible books and periodicalsfor readers with print disabilities. It's free for all U.S. students with qualifying disabilities, and has an online searchable library, with more than70,000 digital books, textbooks, teacher-recommended reading, periodicals andassistive technology tools.
Text-to-speech software
ReadPlease is a developer of award-winning text-to-speech software for Windows® based operating systems. HEATH Resource Center
Take a look at the HEATH Resource Center website for information about scholarships and grants for people with disabilities. The HEATH Resource Center at George Washington University gathers and disseminates information to help people with disabilities reach their full potential through postsecondary education and training, and acts as an online clearinghouse.
Scholarships and Internships for Students with Disabilities
January through May are very important months for students. They are the months when most summer internships and upcoming year scholarships have their application deadlines. Proyecto Visión has extensive lists of specific scholarships and internships for students with disabilities, including information regarding award amounts, application deadline dates, and links to application forms. There are numerous great opportunities, but students can only get them if they learn about them and apply.
Laura Williams Memorial Scholarship from Californians for Disability Rights
One (or more) $500 scholarships will be given each year in the Spring semester to provide assistance to people with disabilities who have been admitted to or are enrolled in a California college or university and who are committed to taking a leadership role in improving the lives of persons with disabilities.
