Yes, announcements are available for a charge. The announcements are ordered through the bookstore and “announce” that you are receiving a degree. The invitations actually “invite” someone to the graduation ceremony and are free of charge. Invitations are generic and DO NOT include your name or degree. The bookstore will be sending you a packet of information, which will include an order form for announcements. Remember, you will have to pay for the announcements.
Invitations will be available late February 2010. Complete and return the order form as soon as possible to allow time for processing Invitation Order Form . There is a maximum of 10 invitations per graduate, however you can request additional invitations. Requests for additional invitations will be filled after all initial requests have been received and only if there are left over invitations.

It is important to inform your family and guests that the doors to the auditorium will close, temporarily, 10 minutes prior to the beginning of each ceremony to clear the lobby and aisles to prepare for the academic procession. Yes. They will be seated in a designated section for “family hooders.” However, they will not be seated with your other family members and guests.
No. As long as they are old enough to not run around on the stage and tall enough to hood you. Remember, the limit is two hooders per graduate.
Your hood will be given to your family hooder on the stage during the diploma/hooding ceremony.
Graduates may wear one (1) lei, a Kente cloth, and/or honor cords. You will be instructed to remove any flower leis before going on stage to be hooded and receive your diploma, and lay it in your seat or drape it over your arm before going on stage. This will allow the hood to lay correctly on your shoulders when hooded.
