When you use the campus phone system, please keep in mind that there is no such thing as a "free" local call. Each local call is charged to your department to for expenses from access fees, telephone system equipment, alarm lines, Internet Access Fees, taxes, line charges and special service circuit charges.
Every call you make is charged to your department at a per-minute rate. This assures that each department is paying for their share of the telecommunication expenses. Call expenses are calculated by the amount of time you use your phone.
