We are planning to include the following elements in our IPE Model:
- It will be a required, comprehensive program for our entry level health professional students.
- There are 13 health care disciplines: osteopathic medicine, optometry, dental medicine, podiatric medicine, veterinary medicine, physical therapy, physician assistant, nursing, pharmacy, public health, occupational therapy assistant, medical assistant, and diagnostic imaging.
- The planned IPE curriculum will be threaded and integrated into the respective professional programs.
- The full curriculum will likely include activities such as IPE clinical scenarios with our standardized patients (SP) program; IPE team based patient safety and disaster management activities; patient care experiences at our new Interprofessional Diagnostic Suites at our new on campus Patient Care Center and documentation of IPE experiences at outside clinical rotations.
