Why LEAD?
As a university dedicated to educating and training students to be humanistic health professionals and caring individuals, all offices strive to support this mission. The Learning Enhancement and Academic Development (LEAD) Office is no exception. Our focus rests squarely on our goal: to consistently provide superior support services in order to be agents of positive change in students’ efforts toward academic excellence.
Working closely with university administrators and faculty from all programs, the LEAD Office effectively assists and empowers students to succeed and excel academically, and professionally, and to become competent, independent, lifelong learners through offering education, career, and wellness support. In an effort to provide the highest quality of service, we continually review the latest literature, present contemporary and applicable workshops, and utilize theoretically sound evidence-based approaches to educational scholarship, professional development, and personal growth.
In order to have the most profound impact on the academic skill level of students, the LEAD team is embedded in and collaborates with all nine colleges. LEAD is strongly committed to enhancing current programs and to developing innovative services that increase success. As your LEAD Office, we look forward to working closely with you throughout your association with WesternU.
