Everyday Mindfulness

WAKING

Notice your mind and body. Are you tired? Alert? Noice how you are moving. How your muscles feel.

EATING

What is the texture, the taste, the smell of your food and drink? Take small bites and savor it.

WALKING

How are you moving? How does the ground feel under your feet? Can you feel your arms swing? Is it different waking on the sidewalk or across a park? How?

WAITING

Are you standing in line? You can notice and practice this, too. Why are you here? How do you feel? Impatient? Anxious? Is your heart beating faster? Can you normalize it with some breathing?

LISTENING

Who are you listening to? Do they have your full attention? Is your mind wandering? If it is a lecture, are you getting the most out if it that you can? Would adjusting your body help you listen better?

STUDY PREP

What are you going to study? Notice your location and attitude. Are you focused and ready? Is the space ready for study or are there distractions that will make it hard for you?
