Information and Services for Clinical Faculty
Requesting Access to the Library
After you have received your clinical faculty appointment from Academic Affairs, you may request access to the library’s online resources.
To begin using the library’s online resources, please fill out the Remote Access Request Form
Your username and password is valid from the date it is issued, to June 30th of the current academic year. A notification will be sent via email to reapply for the next academic year.
Clinical Faculty have remote access to all of the library’s electronic resources EXCEPT the following:
- Natural Standard
- UpToDate – Clinical information resource based on expert opinion
Using Online Resources
The Library’s Online Resources can be accessed through the Electronic Resources page of the Library’s website. You will be prompted to enter the provided username and password.
If you would like help searching for information, please contact a reference librarian at firstname.lastname@example.org
Due to license agreements with publishers, the on-campus and off-campus
use of subscribed electronic resources is limited to current faculty,
clinical faculty, staff, and currently enrolled students of Western
University of Health Sciences. Clinical faculty may have remote access
to some of our electronic resources only during the term of their
Western University clinical faculty appointment. Some publisher license
agreements specifically exclude remote access by faculty not employed by
WesternU and/or not located on the WesternU campus. Any unauthorized
usage results in a violation of the library’s contract with the service
If you cannot find an electronic version of the article you are looking for, you may request it. If it is not part of our collection, it can be requested using our InterLibrary Loan (ILLiad) service.
First time users will need to register here before they can use ILLiad.
To access ILLiad, log in with the username and password you have created during registration.
Please submit no more than 5 requests at a time; once all of your requests have been processed you may request additional materials.
