The University has adopted a set of eight outcome domains that serve to guide its academic programs in their development and ongoing quality improvement. Within each outcome domain, each academic program has developed and assesses specific ability-based outcomes appropriate to the particular degree program.

Overview of Graduate College of Biomedical Sciences (GCBS) 2011-2012

The Graduate College of Biomedical Sciences (GCBS) offers Masters level programs in Biomedical Science (MSBS), Pharmaceutical Sciences (MSPS), and Medical Sciences (MSMS[1]). The college was created to train highly skilled and caring biomedical researchers and future practitioners for entry into academia, industry or the medical professions. The GCBS strives to graduate humanistic professionals who will produce new biomedical knowledge and practice their healthcare professions with a deeper and broader understanding of the dynamic sciences underlying the treatment of patients.

Future Academic Improvement Plans

 

  • Increase GCBS faculty through outside recruiting
  • Hire two new administrative staff to support the 3 programs in GCBS
  • Develop strategic plan for new office space and teaching facilities
  • Create assessment committee
