Are you suffering from dizziness?
Western University of Health Sciences seeks men and women suffering from vertigo to participate in a study on the effectiveness of Osteopathic manual Medicine alone and in combination to Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy (Physical Therapy)
We are looking for people who are:
- Ages 18-79
- experiencing symptoms of dizziness or diagnosed with vertigo for longer than
3 months duration - able to tolerate 30 minutes of sitting and standing
- able to transfer from sitting to standing and move independently
- able to tolerate manual therapy and exercise
Participants will receive evaluations and treatments at no cost.
Treatments are physical, hands on maneuvers ONLY.
No medication involved.
Cash reimbursement for travel.

Western University of Health Sciences invites Ear, Nose, and Throat physicians and health care providers to refer patients with vertigo to this study on the effectiveness of Osteopathic Manual Medicine alone and in combination with Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy (VRT).
The objectives of this study are the following:
- To measure the response to osteopathic manual medicine (OMM) and/or vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT) by using a validated symptom inventory, the Dizziness Handicap Inventory (DHI), and Computerized Dynamic Posturography (CDP) in participants with vertigo.
- To determine if the degree of somatic dysfunction is related to the degree of imbalance in participants with vertigo.
- To compare the effectiveness of OMM to VRT, head to head, in combination, and to no treatment in participants with vertigo.
- To determine the effect of OMM and/or VRT aimed at improving visual function disorders related to dizziness or a diagnosis of vertigo.

Directions
From I-10: take the exit for Indian Hill Blvd. Go South on Indian Hill until it dead ends at Holt Avenue (1.4 miles). Cross the intersection at Holt into the Village.
From CA-60: take the exit for Ramona Avenue. Go North on Ramona until Holt Avenue (2.2 miles). Turn left on Holt, go 0.6 miles (1 block past N. Mills Ave) and turn left into the Village.
From Western University campus (2nd St): head North on Towne Ave (4 blocks), turn right on Holt Ave. Go 1.3 miles to Indian Hill Blvd, turn right into the Village.
Park near Building 3: After entering the Village from Indian Hill, turn right (West) to Building 3. The research lab is located inside the mall (Suite 18). Enter building and walk straight ahead; turn right at the first hallway. Lab is second door on the right.
