The Western University of Health Sciences College of Pharmacy opened in 1996. The PharmD program prepares pharmacy professionals in a humanistic, interdisciplinary tradition to become competent, qualified practitioners. WesternU now supports three types of post-doctoral training programs in pharmacy practice:

PGY1 Residencies: Community Practice, Ambulatory Care, Acute Care
PGY2 Residencies: Cardiology, Infectious Diseases, Psychiatric Pharmacotherapy
Fellowships: Health Outcomes, Cardiology, Transplantation/Pharmacogenomics, Ambulatory Care

Post-doctoral trainees have the opportunity to participate in didactic and experiential teaching, as well as assist in the development of clinical skills with pharmacy students in all phases of pharmacy school. WesternU has an innovative block structure in the curriculum, which allows students to focus on one topic at a time, and for faculty (and other lecturers) to focus their teaching time. WesternU is a leader in providing interprofessional education and teaching evidence-based clinical practice – trainees will have a chance to participate in both.

WesternU programs include 3 weeks paid time off, health insurance, parking, $1000 travel stipend, and 403(b) with employer contribution. Post-docs are provided a faculty appointment within the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration.
