The Optometry Residency Match (ORMatch) is an application service and match that places applicants into optometry residency training positions. ORMatch is a program of the Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry (ASCO) and it is supervised by the ORMatch Committee. ORMatch is administered by National Matching Services Inc. July – August, 2013
Residency Registration Forms for participation in ORMatch are sent to program coordinators. Program coordinators must return their Registration Forms to National Matching Services Inc.
October 1, 2013
By this date, a list of programs participating in ORMatch will be available.
ORMatch registration will open for applicants. Prior to registering, applicants should review the information in the Applicant Registration section of the website. https://www.natmatch.com/ormatch/appllanding.html
The ORMatch application service will open for applicants and programs. Procedures for using the application service will be available on the ORMatch website.
October 2013  -
January 2014
Applicants must submit applications to programs through the ORMatch application service. The ORMatch application service will make available the information submitted by each applicant to the programs designated by the applicant. Applicants are required to send all additional supporting application information (e.g., CVs, transcripts, letters of reference) directlry to programs. Application requirements and deadlines for programs vary; therefore, applicants shuld contact programs directly for more information.
December 31, 2013
Recommended date by which applicants should register for ORMatch. Applicants cannot use the ORMatch application service until they have registered for ORMatch.
January 15, 2014
By this date, instruction for submitting Rank Order Lists and obtaining Match results will be available to applicants and program coordinators registered to participate in ORMatch.
January 31, 2014
Closing date for the ORMatch Application Service. After this date, applicants will not be able to submit applications to programs through ORMatch.
Each program sets its own application deadlines, which may be before or after this date. Applicants should contact programs directly for more information.
February 10, 2014
The ROLIC system will open on this date for Match participants to submit Rank Order Lists for Match.
February 28, 2014
The final date for submission of applicant and program Rank Order Lists.
March 10, 2014
The Results of ORMatch are released to applicants and program coordinators. No action to fill positions remaining unfilled after the Match is to be taken prior to 12 noon Eastern Time on this date.

April 10, 2014
Program coordinators send letters to confirmation of the ORMatch result to matched applicants within 10 working days of the release of the ORMatch results. Applicants sign and return letters of confirmation with 30 days of the release of the ORMatch results.
