10/29/04 Stolen Vehicle Recovered The 1991 Toyota that was stolen from our parking lot on Thursday, October 28th was recovered by the Pomona Police Dept. on Friday, October 29th. Although some of the contents were missing, our student has their vehicle back, and the thief is in custody.
10/28/04 Stolen Vehicle
A 1991 Toyota Camry, light metallic blue, was reported stolen from the student parking lot on the south side of HPC. There was no broken glass or evidence of forced entry. The theft occurred some time between 9:45 AM and 11:45 AM. Police report has been taken.
4/5/04 Attempted Vehicle Theft/Vandalism
At approximately 6:10 p.m. a security officer witnessed an attempt to break into a car parked in Lot #2-13 (Behind Veterinary Medicine, Founders Park, Maintenance shop).
The person had a Honda key and was attempting to break into a Honda. At the time the person saw the officer the alarm on the car began sounding. The person fled the scene, leaving the key behind.
The person was described as a teenage Hispanic male, approximately 5'8", 180 pounds.
Visible inside the car were a laptop, a backpack and an ID badge.
Please do not leave valuable items visible in your car, they are very tempting to thieves.
3/18/04 Employee Harassed in Parking Lot
On 3/18/04 at approximately 5:00 - 5:30 p.m. an employee was followed to her car in lot #2-2 by two unknown men in a vehicle. She reported this as harassment due to the fact that they were calling out to her. The vehicle was a black 4 door Chevrolet Impala. They followed her closely right up to the back of her car. When the employee entered her car and locked the doors the men drove away without any further incident.
Please remember to try to walk to your car with a group. If you are alone you may request a security escort to your car. If you are in a building without a security guard you may reach one at ext. 5606 (HPC) or ext. 5470 (HSC).
3/17/04 Theft of University Property
At approximately 7:40 p.m. on 3/17/04 a campus security guard was robbed of his security cart. Two black males approached him and told him to stay away from his cart as he was exiting the maintenance shop (637 E. Second St.) on foot. When he attempted to walk toward his cart one of the men pulled a knife out and again warned him away. While he pointed the knife at the guard the other man drove the cart away. Shortly afterwards the first man ran from the scene. The guard was not hurt. The police were called.
3/2/04 Theft of Personal Property
At approximately 8:05 a.m. on 3/2/04 a security guard was at her post in front of the Veterinary Medicine Center. A young male riding a bicycle down the sidewalk grabbed her lunchbox off of the planter in front of the building. He sped south on Palo mares and out of sight. The guard lost her wallet and cell phone. The guard was not hurt. The police were called.
11/12/03 StudentAccosted Near Campus
At 5:30 p.m., November 12, 2003, a female student was accosted after entering her car parked on 4th street near Eleanor. When nearing her car she saw two men in the vicinity. She went to her car alone and fortunately locked her door as soon as she entered the car. One of the men attempted to get into her car. She drove away safely but did not notify anyone. The University security department was not made aware of this for almost 24 hours. The police were then notified and they added an extra patrol to the area.
