Narrative
Dr. Todd chose Western University to begin his academic life after a 15-year career spanning a wide variety of optometric experiences. He completed his pre-medical studies at the competitive Health Careers Program at Harvard’s College of Extension Studies. He graduated with honors with an O.D. degree from Nova Southeastern University, College of Optometry. In the years that followed, Dr. Todd concentrated his characteristic energy working in ophthalmology centers, LASIK treatment centers, rural eye care in the Deep South, inpatient treatment of nursing home, brain injury and developmentally disabled patients and as a developer of new technologies for biotech companies. He currently holds several U.S. and European patents, has been published in refereed medical journals and is a member of The Mensa Society. Now at Western, Dr. Todd enjoys what he calls “whole person eye care” and Western’s partnership with industry in developing new methods and technologies.
