Dr. Elo is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (Board Certified). He obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry. He then completed his specialty residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Loma Linda University Medical Center. He obtained a Master of Science from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry with his thesis entitled, "Implant Success in Distracted Versus Autogenous Grafted Sites." Prior to arriving at Western University College of Dental Medicine, he maintained a private practice in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Irvine, as well as maintained an Assistant Professor faculty appointment at Loma Linda University Medical Center/School of Dentistry. Dr. Elo is actively involved in organized dentistry, serving on the Board of Directors for the California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, as well as on the Policy Development Council for the California Dental Association. Dr. Elo maintains hospital staff appointments at Loma Linda University Medical Center and Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. His surgical interests include intravenous general anesthesia, oral and maxillofacial pathology, facial trauma surgery, corrective jaw surgery, dentoalveolar surgery, and dental implants. Dr. Elo and his wife, Gabriela, have two sons, Logan and Landon; and they live in Irvine.
