Narrative

Practiced Behavioral and Developmental Primary Care Optometry in private practice until March 1, 2010.  I initially was in practice with my father. I most recently was in a group practice with 2 other optometrists, and a glaucoma specialist and anterior segment specialist who were in the practice weekly and part time basis.

Because of the number of students with reading problems that I worked with, I decided to further develop my knowledge by obtaining my MA in reading from Notre Dame de Namur University.

Joining Western University of Health Sciences, the College of Optometry as chief of pediatric services was a real and exciting change for me.  I could now work with others to educate our new optometrists in the full scope of optometric care and work on research that would “prove” the effects of optometric treatment on vision problems and maximize a person’s ability to perform in the classroom and work place.
