Narrative
Dr. Neiberg has been a faculty member at Western University College of Optometry since June of 2009 and is the course leader for the Principles and Practice of Optometry II and the Coordinator or Clerkship Clinical Education. The primary focus of her research in this area is the educational impact of automated and manual equipment.
Dr. Neiberg is course leader and lab master for the Neuro Eye Disease Course and Course leader for the Eye and Systemic Disease course. Her research interest is varied within this area, and currently involves the effect of Alzheimer’s disease on vision. She is the course liaison for the Behavioral Medicine course. Dr. Neiberg is responsible for the uveitis section of the Anterior Segment Disease course and the Optic Nerve section in the Glaucoma Course. Dr. Neiberg has a special interest in dry eye.
Dr. Neiberg earned her doctor Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in 1998, after graduating from the Technikon Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa, as an optometrist in 1989. She completed a Residency in Primary care at NOVA Southeastern University in 2005. Dr. Neiberg has authored several peer reviewed posters and papers and presented lectures on many occasions. She has served as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Optometry and as a NBEO examiner on many occasions. Dr. Neiberg is a chapter contributor in a textbook on Special Populations that is currently in press. She was awarded preceptor of the year award and the Golden Apple award in 2008 by the class of 2013 of Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry.
