Education

Dr. Bosveld is an Associate Professor of Nursing and Coordinator for Simulation at the College of Graduate Nursing. She has over 34 years of professional nursing practice in critical care, emergency nursing, pain management, and nursing education.

Originally for Georgia, Dr. Bosveld completed her Associate in Science in Nursing from Dekalb College, Clarkston Georgia and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Brenau University located in Gainesville, Georgia. After relocating to California, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing- Clinical Nurse Specialist focus from Azusa Pacific University in 2000, subsequently returning to complete a Post-Master’s Family Nurse Practitioner Program in 2006. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Western University of Health Sciences September 2013. Dr. Bosveld has numerous years of teaching in pre-licensure programs as well as in graduate level nursing courses. She has worked as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the acute care setting as both a Clinical Nurse Specialist and as a Nurse Practitioner.

Certification

Dr. Bosveld has advanced practice certification as both a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) and a Family Nurse Practitioner (NP-C). She also is a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE).

Originally for Georgia, Dr. Bosveld completed her Associate in Science in Nursing from Dekalb College, Clarkston Georgia and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Brenau University located in Gainesville, Georgia. Academic Interests

Dr. Bosveld research interests include translational research involving simulation, pain management, end-of-life and palliative care, animal (pet) assisted therapy, and health care in vulnerable populations. Her latest research focused on nurses knowledge and attitudes related to pain management as reflected through HCAHPS patient satisfaction scores. Results of her study will be presented at the Lilly Conference in Newport Beach, California February 2014.
