Fitness Benefits Options For Students 

COMP-Northwest students, you have three fitness benefit options! Only one option per student and benefits are evaluated annually and are subject to change.

How to Join: The only way to join SamFit at the discounted rate is via Self-Service (BanWeb) during fall registration. 
  • Your name will be sent to SamFit directly
  • Rosters are sent weekly starting August 1st until the September 15, deadline
  • Once SamFit receives your information, visit the gym and speak to a representative to complete registration and pickup your membership card
Cost:

$240.00 per year

SamFit’s offer to WesternU Students:
  • No enrollment or activation fees
  • Free keycard when you join via Banweb
  • Up to a 15% discount on all additional services (e.g. personal training)
  • Discounted Annual health risk assessments - (available as part of the Wellness Package purchase)
  • Free unlimited access to the onsite health, wellness & fitness educational sessions
  • 24/7/365 access to all SamFit facilities (Corvallis, Lebanon, Albany and any future locations)
Deadline to Join: September 15, 2014 – no exceptions!

We would greatly appreciate it if you would make your fitness membership decision prior to registration as it is a time consuming process to make changes after registration.

To add or cancel a membership after you’ve registered on Banweb e-mail the registrar@westernu.edu.

  • Include your student ID number and program in your e-mail
  • Requests made after September 15, 2014 will not be honored
Family Add-On:

Once your SamFit membership is active you may add family members to your account.  Family memberships may not be charged to your student account.

Speak to your SamFit representative about adding a family member

  • 1st Family Add-on: $15.00/month*
  • Additional Family Add-ons: $10.00/month*
  • *Must live with the student and be at least 16 years of age.

  


Reimbursement for a non-SamFit Fitness Membership 

University may reimburse up to $100.00/year for a membership to any commercial fitness facility OTHER than SamFit.  There are two options listed below and depending on how you pay/paid for your membership you may be eligible to receive a reimbursement. 

How do you pay for your non-SamFit Membership?

Option #2: Prepaid
You prepaid for a 12 month membership

Option #3: Month-to-Month
You pay every month for your membership

To qualify for this reimbursement for the 2014-2015 Academic Year with a prepaid membership you must:

Complete the reimbursement request form (pdf) and submit original documentation showing the membership is:

  • In your name (the student)

  • Paid in full

  • Active for the full academic year (at least 10 months between July 1 and June 30)

 

To qualify for this reimbursement for the 2014-2015 Academic Year with a month-to-month membership you must:

Complete the reimbursement request form (pdf) and submit documentation showing:

  • The membership is your name (the student)

  • You’ve paid 10 consecutive months of dues

  • The 10 months of dues were paid during this academic year (July 1 – June 30)

Acceptable forms of proof include a financial history report from your gym (preferred) or copies of your bank or credit card statement (block out any personal information other than your name and the specific charge showing the name of the health/fitness club).
