Fitness Benefits Options
As a Western University of Health Sciences student you have the following three fitness membership options. Only one option per student and benefits are evaluated annually and are subject to change.
BENEFITS FOR ALUMNI: Discounted fitness membership are available for graduates through the WesternU Alumni Association. Visit the Alumni Affairs webpage for more information.

Fitness Memberships
To take advantage of WesternU's discounted gym membership to LA Fitness, you must sign up on Self-Service (Banweb) during the fall registration process. Do not sign up at any LA Fitness location!

| How to Join: |
The only way to join LA Fitness at the discounted rate is via Self-Service (Banweb) during fall registration. LA Fitness corporate office will receive your name and selection on or about August 1 (rosters will be sent weekly after August 1 until the September 15, deadline). Once LA Fitness receives your information, you will receive an e-mail with a voucher with further instructions from Corporate Wellness Admin. Please note this may take several days. Once your membership has been active for 5 days it cannot be canceled. |

Once you are registered and your membership at LA Fitness is active, e-mail Jessica for requests regarding family members. Be sure to include your active membership number and which type of membership your family member prefers. Family members can join at any time (student deadline does not apply), their memberships are valid for one year from date of purchase and cannot be charged to your student account. | How to Join: |
All students are welcome to use the Pomona YMCA facility until July 31, 2013, even you have another gym membership. The Pomona YMCA is available to you at no cost with presentation of your valid WesternU student ID card. The YMCA is located near campus at 1460 E. Holt Ave., Suite 196, (use entrance #3) and offers facilities for swimming, racquetball, basketball, exercise programs, etc. See directions to Pomona YMCA |
Fitness Membership Reimbursement
If you elect not to enroll in LA Fitness at registration, the University may reimburse up to $100.00/year for a membership to any commercial fitness facility OTHER than LA Fitness. There are two options listed below and depending on how you pay/paid for your membership you may be eligible to receive a reimbursement.
Prepaid (You paid a flat rate for a 12 or 24 month membership)
To qualify for this reimbursement for the 2013-2014 Academic Year with a prepaid membership you must:
Complete the reimbursement request form (pdf) and submit original documentation showing the membership is:
-In your name (the student)
-Paid in full
-Active for the full academic year (at least 10 months between July 1 and June 30)
DEADLINE TO SUBMIT PAPERWORK: September 15, 2013
Month-to-Month (You pay every month for your membership)
To qualify for this reimbursement for the 2012-2013 Academic Year with a month-to-month membership you must:
Complete the reimbursement request form (pdf) and submit documentation showing:
-The membership is your name (the student)
-You've paid 10 consecutive months of dues
-The 10 months of dues were paid during this academic year (July 1 - June 30)
Acceptable forms of proof include a financial history report from your gym (preferred) or copies of your bank or credit card statement (block out any personal information other than your name and the specific charge showing the name of the health/fitness club).
