Welcome to the 2011 A Tribute to Caring Gala at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim. I’m delighted that so many of you could join us in supporting our students and in giving special recognition to some of WesternU’s most loyal supporters and advocates.
As most of you know, the University’s partnerships in the communities we serve across the region, nation and world are part of the lifeblood of our institution. These partnerships help train new generations of healers in a wide variety of areas, and establish lasting bonds between WesternU and community organizations, schools, governments, and business. One such relationship is honored tonight, as Amerisource Bergen, a longtime supporter and advocate for WesternU, receives the Corporate Humanitarian Award. I know you’ll join me in celebrating this partnership and in congratulating Amerisource Bergen for its outstanding work on behalf of communities and the health professions.
We also celebrate and congratulate hundreds of other people tonight: all of you. Thanks to your participation in A Tribute to Caring, incoming WesternU students receive scholarships that help set them on the path to becoming tomorrow’s healers. Thank you for your contribution to that effort, and for your continued support of our University.
