Primary Application Process and Deadline (PharmCAS)

The Pharmacy College Application Service (PharmCAS) is the centralized application service for Western University College of Pharmacy. PharmCAS offers a web-based application service which allows applicants to use a single application and one set of materials to apply to multiple PharmD programs. Western University's application deadline to apply to PharmCAS is November 1. All application materials must be complete (including TOEFL scores) and submitted to PharmCAS by the November 1 deadline. Applicants who do not submit all application materials by the deadline will not be eligible to continue in the admissions process. It is your responsibility to follow PharmCAS's instructions. Failure to do so may delay application processing and you will be inelgibile to continue in Western University's application process. It can take approximately 4-5 weeks for PharmCAS to process application materials and forward to Western University. Submitting materials early will ensure timely processing and help avoid delays.

Supplemental Application Process

In addition to the PharmCAS application, Western University requires applicants to submit a supplemental application along with an application fee of $65. All accompanying documents may be printed from this web page. The supplemental application packet is due November 1. Applicants who do not submit all application materials by the deadline may not be eligible to continue in the admissions process. The minimum required GPA is 2.5 overall and 2.5 sciences. A final evaluation will be completed upon receipt of your PharmCAS and supplemental application. Western University is not responsible for delays in mail delivery. We strongly encourage you to apply early.

Depending upon the number of applications received, interviews may be conducted on a rolling basis. The College of Pharmacy would review completed applications, conduct interviews and make admissions decisions throughout the admissions cycle.

Instructions

Please print and carefully follow the steps outlined below.

STEP 1:
Download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat. Reboot your computer after installing Adobe Acrobat Reader.

NOTE: Your browser must be one of the following: Internet Explorer 4.x and
above or Netscape 6.x.

STEP 2: Save the following PDF forms on your computer:

Supplemental Application Forms:

Application along with the Supplemental Application.)

Here are some easy steps to save a PDF form on your computer:
1) Right click on the PDF link
2) Select 'Save Target as'
3) Choose a directory where you will save the PDF file (a good spot is your desktop for easy access)

4) Select 'Save' to save the file on your computer.

Tips for navigating the PDF forms:
1) TAB key moves you from one field to another
2) SPACEBAR selects a Yes/No field


STEP 3: Open and print the Application Process and Checklist and follow the step-by-step instructions. Use this as a guide in the organization of your application packet. You may also wish to print blank copies of all forms and complete your first draft by hand.

STEP 4: Open and complete the Supplemental Application for Admission that you just saved on your computer.

STEP 5: Print the completed Supplemental Application and proofread. Make any necessary adjustments and print your revised final draft.

STEP 6: Open and complete the Personal Questionnaire that you just saved on
your computer.

STEP 7: Print the completed Personal Questionnaire and proofread. Make any
necessary adjustments and print your revised final draft.

STEP 8: Open and print three copies of the Recommendation Evaluation Form that you just saved on your computer. Please read and sign the waiver section on each evaluation, and distribute one form to each of your three evaluators/references. You must collect hard copies of completed evaluations from each reference for inclusion in your single application packet (see Application Process and Checklist for instructions).

You will be notified by postcard and/or email when your application is ready for evaluation.

The supplemental application is also available by mail. Please contact the Admissions Office at (909) 469-5335 to request one.

Submitting Your Application

All Supplemental Application Checklist materials must be included, as requested, in the single application packet submitted by you to Western University of Health Sciences.

Retain copies of all submitted materials for your records, as applications become the property of Western University of Health Sciences upon submission.

Western University of Health Sciences assumes no responsibility for delays in mail delivery.

Applicants with Foreign Course Work

Applicants who wish to use course work completed outside the United States must submit the transcripts for evaluation to one of the following services:

A course-by-course evaluation is required and all course work must be designated as undergraduate, graduate or professional. Western University will only honor evaluations from one of the above services. The evaluation must be included with the application packet.
