| Dr. Castro has been the recipient of several awards and grants, including grants from the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation, the United Cerebral Palsy Association and the University of California Tobacco Related Disease Research Program. She is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine and is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics, the Society of Gynecologic Investigation and the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine. She is married to Dr. Robert Avina, MD who is a faculty member in the department of Family Medicine at Loma Linda University Medical Center. They have three sons-Jason, Jeffrey and Daniel. |
