From the very first OMM lab during my first year of medical school, I realized that we are all equipped with incredibly powerful tools for diagnosis and treatment - our hands. I believe that touching patients is a very important part of establishing a therapeutic relationship with out patients, and the ability to treat our patients' complaints with our hands makes that relationship even stronger.
I see the fellowship as an excellent way to explore what you are interested in. Whether you love teaching and want to earn a master's degree in health professions education or whether you love research and want to explore the mechanisms of OMM, the fellowship is a great way to achieve those goals. And while we are all pursuing our various interests we are all honing out skills in OMM so that we will be the best clinicians we can be.
After graduation I will likely pursue a career in Family Medicine.
