Applicant must be visually impaired and be attending a college in the US.Basis for selection includes major/career interest in health-related professions that deal with the rehabilitation and/or education of blind or visually impaired persons. Applicant must demonstrate depth of character, leadership, seriousness of purpose and service orientation.

For full-time undergraduate, graduate study. Applicant must be visually impaired, i.e., legally blind. Major/career interest in medicine; law; engineering; natural sciences; architecture. Applicant must demonstrate financial need, high academic achievement and service orientation.
