Business and Professional Womens Career Advancement Scholarship

Eligibility/Description

For junior, senior, masters or first professional study at accredited 2-year, 4-year or graduate institution in United States.
Applicant must be female, at least 25. Basis for Selection includes major/career interest in science, general; education, teacher; engineering; law; computer/information sciences; humanities/liberal arts; social/behavioral sciences; business, management, and administration; paralegal studies; science or professional degrees (J.D., D.D.S., M.D.). Must be within 24 months of receiving degree, demonstrate critical financial need and have definite career plan. Must be accepted into an accredited program. .Applicant must demonstrate financial need.
Residency Applicant must be U.S. citizen.

Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories Scholarship for Women in Graduate Medical and Health Business Programs

Eligibility/Description

The Wyeth-Ayerst Scholarship for Women in Graduate Medical and Health Business Programs was established in 1993 to assist women in gaining entry into underrepresented and underutilized health-related occupations, particularly in the medical and health business professions. This scholarship program encourages women to enter emerging health fields such as biomedical engineering, biomedical research, medical technology, pharmaceutical marketing, public health and public health policy. This scholarship program, administered by the Business and Professional Women's Foundation Educational Programs through a grant from Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories provides $50,000 annually in scholarship grants. Scholarship grants of $2,000 each are awarded for full-time programs of study only at the graduate level. Applicants must be studying in one of the following fields: biomedical engineering, biomedical research, medical technology, pharmaceutical marketing, public health and public health policy.
Residency Applicant must be U.S. citizen.
Application Requirements Scholarship application packets are available only between January 1 and April 1. To request an application or further information, enclose a business size (4" x 10") self-addressed double stamped envelope. Write "scholarship" in the upper left corner of the envelope to identify the requested information. Mail to the address below.

Ruth G. White Scholarship

Eligibility/Description

Female residents of California who are seeking a degree in the broad field of medicine and have completed their first year of graduate work in their field may apply for the Ruth G. White Scholarship. This award was established as a tribute to the past president of the California chapter of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Scholarships are awarded each Spring to worthy California women. The awards are based upon character rating, integrity, academic excellence and financial need, and are renewable if a recipient's need continues and she is doing well scholastically.
Residency Applicant must be a California resident
Application Requirements Students must write to a committee member, requesting an application. In her letter, she should state her year in school.

American College of Sports Medicine Graduate Scholarships for Minorities and Women

Type of Award Scholarships for 1 year; renewable for up to 3 additional years

Eligibility/Description

This program was established to provide financial assistance to minority and women graduate students who are interested in preparing for a career in sports medicine or exercise science. It is open to minorities and women who have been accepted into a full-time master's, Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree program in sports medicine, exercise science, or other related field. Minorities include American Indians, Alaskan Natives, Asians, Pacific Islanders, Blacks, and Hispanics. Need based.
Application Requirements Applicants must submit 3 letters of professional recommendation (including at least 1 from a current member of the American College of Sports Medicine), evidence of participation in sports medicine or exercise science (including documentation of research and scholarly activities), transcripts, GRE or MCAT scores, and a 300-word description of short- and long-term career goals.
Residency Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
Award Amount $1,500 per year stipend, to be used to cover tuition and-or fees.
