Can I transfer into your DPT program from another MPT or DPT program?

No.

Do you give preference to California residents?

No. Although a significant portion of our student body is from California, this is merely a reflection of our overall applicant pool.

Is tuition the same for in-state and out-of-state residents?

Yes. We are a private institution so we charge one tuition rate for everyone. Tuition for the 2008-2009 academic year will be $29,200 per year.

How can I learn more about the financial aid available to me?

You can visit our Financial Aid Web page to access information regarding financial aid.

Do you accept international students?

Yes. International students and any other applicants who are not U.S. citizens should be prepared to provide proof of legal U.S. residency at the time of application. Proof of legal U.S. residency is required prior to any offer of acceptance.

Does it matter that I'm older than your average applicant?

No. We encourage applications from qualified candidates regardless of age.

Is it advisable to work while I take classes?

No. This is a full-time commitment and we discourage our students from working, even part time.

Is there an opportunity to do research while attending Western University?

Students are not required to complete a research project as part of the entry-level DPT program. Students who are interested in pursuing research have an option to receive credit for assisting faculty with their research activities.Up arrow--back to top

What is the board passing rate for your physical therapy students?

Western University's 2004 physical therapy graduates had a passing rate above 94 percent for those taking the test for the first time.

How can I learn more about your DPT program?

There are a number of ways to learn more about us: explore our Web site, come to a presentation, come for a campus tour, or attend one of the information sessions held throughout the year. You've taken the first step by coming to our Web site! We regularly travel to undergraduate institutions to do presentations. Contact us if you would like us to speak to your club or group.

Do you have any workshops on campus?

We host several information sessions on the Western University campus throughout the year. These sessions provide an opportunity for you to meet faculty members and learn more about Western University, the physical therapy profession and our DPT curriculum. A student panel and campus tour are also highlights of this event!
