Average Acceptance Profile

Admission to Western University's Doctor of Physical Therapy program is a highly selective process. Successful candidates for admission will demonstrate, through academic preparation in the sciences and liberal arts, that they are thoroughly prepared to function as highly competent, caring students. While grades are an important measure of academic qualification, they do not, by themselves, guarantee later success as a physical therapist or as a student at Western University.

The Admissions Committee seeks a diverse and balanced student population and considers factors such as a well-rounded background, medically related work experiences, community service, interpersonal skills, letters of recommendation, interest in and knowledge of primary care, and a commitment to compassionate health care.

Competitive Candidate Profile

Many prospective students ask, "What qualities are you looking for in a student?" This can be answered with another question, "What qualities do you look for in a health care provider?" Most people believe that a great health care provider is not only knowledgeable, but experienced, compassionate and a good communicator. These are the qualities we seek at Western University of Health Sciences.
