Client Technology Analyst I/Network Operations/2 positions available

Description:

Manage first level software/hardware technical support requests via phone, e-mail., and web page. Responsibilities will include overseeing the effective and timely response to all requests maintained within the university service requests application. Additional responsibilities will include working with the Manager of Technical Support to improve on service response times, deliverables and identify prospective training to the Western University community.

Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential Job Functions

1 Maintain and operate the Heat ticket tracking system.

2. Provide phone support to the University (faculty, staff and students)

3 Provides support by diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining laptops and workstations.

Skills:

Individuals must possess the knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

1. Good computer knowledge necessary in order to build/troubleshoot computer systems.

2. Skill in using various hand tools and familiarity with the use of the Internet.

3. Good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively interact with administration, faculty, staff, and outside contacts.

4. Skill in using and troubleshooting Microsoft operating systems and applications.

5. Basic knowledge of network technology as it applies to a TCP/IP switched network topology.

Qualification Standards

  1. Education: Any combination, training or experience equivalent to an Associate of Arts degree in a Science subject or closely related field that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  2. Experience: 1-2 years experience in computer repair.
