Rideshare Program Welcome to the WesternU Employee Rideshare Program!All Full-time and Regular Part-time Western employees are eligible to participate in the Rideshare Program. This is a benefit that Western University voluntarily provides its employees. The purpose of this program is to reduce emissions from vehicles by reducing the number of commute trips between home and work during peak weekday morning commuting hours of 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Ridesharing is one of the strongest means in reducing smog emissions and improving the overall air quality in Southern California. The benefits of participation in the rideshare program range from the following: Bonus Pay: A bonus of $3.00 will be paid to employees for each day that they carpool, bike or walk to work. The bonus will be included in the employee's payroll check after the first full payroll period of the month following receipt and approval of the Rideshare Incentive Voucher by the AQMD Administrator in the Office of Human Resources. Transit Subsidies/Bus Passes: Reimbursement of up to a maximum of $120.00 per month for bus passes/tickets will be paid. Employees can either submit receipts for tickets or complete the Rideshare Incentive Voucher for reimbursement of $3.00 per day. Metrolink Tickets: Reimbursement of up to a maximum of $120.00 per month towards Metrolink fares will be paid. Employees will be reimbursed for their fare upon submission of a receipt or other verification of ticket purchase to the AQMD Administrator, Office of Human Resources. Rideshare Recognition: A raffle, gift certificates, etc. will be given periodically in recognition to those who use alternate means of transportation to work. An email will be sent out at the end of each month requesting the rideshare reimbursement forms for those employees that carpool, walk or bicycle to work. Metro Rewards is a Metro Commute Service rideshare incentive program for dedicated ridesharers who work for employers of any size located in Los Angeles County. Additional start up incentives through Inland Empire Commuter Services are also available for Employees who live in Riverside, San Bernardino, or Coachella Counties. The guaranteed ride home will usually be by taxi. The maximum fare to be reimbursed will be $50.00 per ride home. You may request a match list by calling 1 (800) COMMUTE. You may also log onto www.commutesmart.info for more ride matching assistance.Ride matching through the Western University classified ads in BanWeb is also an option. This can be done by going to http://webapps.westernu.edu/classifieds/ . Look under activities: carpooling and simply click "login to post an ad" at the upper right corner, and enter your Banweb credentials.
