Washington University Medical Palm Initiative A very good university palm site with many links. Our Handheld ResourcesAccessMedicineAccessMedicine's handheld options require the user to register and create an account, which is free. To create an account click on "My AccessMedicine" hyperlink near the upper right hand corner of the screen. Once registered you will have the ability to save section & chapters from the databases list of e-books. You will also have the ability to save images from the database image library. DynaMed: DynaMed is available in a PDA application for Palm OS and Microsoft Mobile devices. The downloaded version of DynaMed is not compatible with Blackberry or iPhone but the Web-based version of DynaMed can be accessed with a wireless Internet connection on a variety of handheld devices. Please contact the library at reference@westernu.edu to obtain access to DynaMed on your PDA device. MDConsult: MDConsult requires users to register and create an account, which is free. To create an account click on the "Create an Account" link in the upper right hand corner of the webpage. Once an account has been created you will then need to download the PDA program from MDConsult called MobiPocket. This is the program that is used to save information contained in MDConsult to your handheld device. Included in this initial download is PocketConsult which contains a host of free programs for your use. Some of the programs included are'; MDC Drug Updates, MDC News, Medical Calculators. Franklin Electronic Publishers A commercial site contains a large selection of medical e-books for the Palm and PocketPC. Handheldmed.com A commercial website offering medical reference software like Harrison's, The Washington Manual and others. They also offer Patient Tracker, a free program to follow patient data. Memo Wear A unique collection of thousands of documents (databases, literature, maps, technical references, lists, etc.) specially formatted to be easily added to your PalmOS device, Pocket PC, Windows CE, EPOC, Symbian or other handheld device. Unless otherwise mentioned, all documents are free for your use. PDA Cortex Has many medical and nursing resources and links to palm information.
