McGraw-Hill's AccessMedicine is an online resource that provides services for physicians, students, and health professionals who need immediate access to authoritative and current medical data. AccessMedicine is updated daily with the full text, graphics, images and illustrations of the most recent editions of medical reference books. Clinical Evidence
Clinical Evidence summarizes the current state of knowledge about the prevention and treatment of clinical conditions. These summaries are based on thorough searches and appraisals of the literature and describe the best available evidence from systematic reviews, randomized control trials, and observational studies where appropriate. It does not make recommendations.

Cochrane Library
The Cochrane Library consists of a regularly updated collection of evidence-based medicine databases, including The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effectiveness, Cochrane Controlled Trials Register, Cochrane Methodology Register, NHS Economic Evaluation Database, Health Technology Assessment Database, and Cochrane Database of Methodology Reviews.

DynaMed
DynaMed is updated daily and monitors the content of over 500 medical journals and systematic evidence review databases directly and indirectly by using many journal review services. Each publication is reviewed cover-to-cover, and each article is evaluated for clinical relevance and scientific validity. The new evidence is then integrated with existing content, and overall conclusions are changed as appropriate representing a synthesis of the best available evidence. Through this process of systematic literature surveillance, the best available evidence determines the content of DynaMed.

EBSCOhost
EBSCOhost is a database provider that allows you to search multiple or single subscription databases. WesternU subscribes to the following databases through this service: Academic Search Elite, Alt-Health Watch, Business Source Elite, CINAHL, Health Source Nursing/Academic Edition, Newspaper Source, Health Source Consumer Edition and Clinical Pharmacology.

Lexi-Comp Online provides point-of-care drug and clinical information. Lexi-Comp Online includes:

PubMed is the National Library of Medicine's search service that provides free access to millions of citations in Medline, PreMedline, and other related databases.

ScienceDirect
ScienceDirect is a single source for scientific, technical, and medical information on the Internet. Researchers can access journal titles and full-text articles and search the abstract and indexing databases.

UpToDate
UpToDate is a comprehensive evidence-based clinical information resource available on the internet. UpToDate is designed to get the concise, practical answers needed at the point of care.

Web of Science
The Science Citation Index Expanded provides access to current and retrospective bibliographic information, author abstracts, and cited references found in approximately 5,900 scholarly science and technical journals covering more than 150 disciplines. The Science Citation Index Expanded format is available through Web of Science.

Audio-Digest

Audio-Digest programs are continuing education audio lectures by experts in their field. The library subscribes to 8 Audio-Digest specialties, including Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, and Psychiatry.

Audio-Digest MP3 Format
The library has the current year of its Audio Digest collection available in MP3 format.

Audio-Digest CDs and Cassettes
The library retains CDs and cassettes from the previous five years. Compact discs holding are from 2004 - 2007; cassettes from 2002 and 2003. These formats are available for checkout at the library.

There are also lists of hospitals and physicians, a medical encyclopedia and dictionaries, health information in Spanish, extensive information on prescription and nonprescription drugs, health information from the media, and links to clinical trials.

PediatricEducation.org
PediatricEducation.org is a Pediatric Digital Library and Learning Collaboration intended to serve as a source of continuing pediatric education. PediatricEducation.org addresses the continuum of pediatric education and may be of use primarily to four distinct populations. It is written for and intended primarily for use by Residents, Fellows, or Attending Physicians practicing pediatrics. Medical Students beginning their study of pediatrics or Other Health Care Providers practicing pediatrics may find it useful. View cases by disease, symptom, specialty, age, and date.

American Academy of Pediatrics
The American Academy of Pediatrics an organization of 60,000 pediatricians committed to the attainment of optimal physical, mental, and social health and well-being for all infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. Whether you re looking for general information related to child health or for more specific guidelines concerning a pediatric issue, you have come to the right place.

American Pediatric Society/Society for Pediatric Research
The objects of the Society shall be to bring together men and women for the advancement of the study of children and their diseases, for the prevention of illness and the promotion of health in childhood, for the promotion of pediatric education and research, and to honor those who, by their contributions to pediatrics, have aided in its advancement. The primary purpose of the Society for Pediatric Research is to encourage young investigators engaged in research that is of benefit to children. This is accomplished by providing a forum for interchange of ideas and an opportunity for these young investigators to present their work.

American Pediatric Surgical Association
The American Pediatric Surgical Association is a surgical specialty organization composed of individuals who have dedicated to the care of the pediatric surgical patient. Specialties include neonatal, prenatal, trauma, and pediatric oncology.

American Pediatric Surgical Nurses Association
The American Pediatric Surgical Nurses Association is comprised of over 300 pediatric surgical nurses who care for children in perioperative, inpatient, outpatient, and office settings. APSNA membership spans the spectrum of the care of children requiring surgical care, from trauma to burns to injury prevention, from inpatient to ambulatory surgery, inpatient and outpatient care, neonatal through adolescent. They are as diverse as the children they serve.

American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology
ASPHO is a multidisciplinary organization dedicated to promoting optimal care of children and adolescents with blood disorders and cancer by advancing research, education, treatment and professional practice.

International Pediatric Association
Every child will be accorded the right to the highest attainable standard of health, and the opportunity to grow, develop, and fulfill to his or her human potential. Pediatricians, working with other partners, will be leaders in promoting physical, mental, and social health for all children, and in realizing the highest standards of health for newborns, children, and adolescents in all countries of the world.

National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners
Established in 1973, NAPNAP has been actively advocating for the children's health by: providing funding, education, and research opportunities to PNPs; influencing legislation that affects maternal/child health care; and producing and distributing educational materials to parents and families. NAPNAP prides itself in the caliber of its members, which includes national child health care experts, respected authors, distinguished faculty, and practicing professionals. Promoting optimal health for children through leadership, practice, advocacy, education and research.

Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics
The Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics (SDBP) is an international organization dedicated to improving the health of infants, children, and adolescents by promoting research, teaching and clinical practice in developmental and behavioral pediatrics. Comprised of more than 600 members, the society strives to promote an understanding of the social, educational, and cultural influences on children.
