Access MedicineMcGraw-Hill's Access Medicine is an online resource that provides services for physicians, students, and health professionals who need immediate access to authoritative and current medical data which is updated daily. The Harriet K. & Philip Pumerantz Library has access to the following titles through AccessMedicine: ClinicalTrials.gov ClinicalTrials.gov is a keyword searchable database funded by the National Library of Medicine which provides clinicians and the general public with information about currently recruiting and ongoing clinical trials. Drugs@FDA The Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) catalog of approved and tentatively approved prescription, over-the-counter, and discontinued drugs. Drugs@FDA also contains drug approval letters, labels, and review packages. DynaMed DynaMed is updated daily and monitors the content of over 500 medical journals and systematic evidence review databases directly and indirectly by using many journal review services. Each publication is reviewed cover-to-cover, and each article is evaluated for clinical relevance and scientific validity. The new evidence is then integrated with existing content, and overall conclusions are changed as appropriate representing a synthesis of the best available evidence. Through this process of systematic literature surveillance, the best available evidence determines the content of DynaMed. LactMed LactMed is a free peer-reviewed database included in NLM's TOXNET system of databases. It covers information on drugs and lactation and currently has over 450 drug records. The records include maternal and infant drug levels, effects on breastfeeding infants, effects on lactation, and alternate drugs to consider. The NDC serves as a universal product identifier for human drugs. The National Drug Code Query (NDCQ) content is limited to prescription drugs and insulin products. National Guidelines Clearinghouse (NGC) The NGC is a public source of evidence based clinical practical guidelines. It offers clinicians a searchable free resource for clinical practice. Orange Book The FDA's approved drug products with therapeutic equivalence evaluations database. The Electronic Orange Book (EOB) historically has been updated monthly. Currently, each month is being updated by the end of the third working week of the following month. PubMed PubMed is the National Library of Medicine's search service that provides free access to over 11 million citations in Medline, PreMedline, and other related databases. ScienceDirect ScienceDirect is a single source for scientific, technical, and medical information on the Internet. Researchers can access journal titles and full-text articles and search the abstract and indexing databases. STAT!Ref STAT!Ref provides electronic access to medical reference books. Pharmacy titles available through STAT!Ref are: Toxline ® is a bibliographic database covering the biochemical, pharmacological, physiological, and toxicological effects of drugs and other chemicals. It contains over 3 million citations, almost all with abstracts and/or index terms and CAS Registry Numbers. UpToDate UpToDate is a comprehensive evidence-based clinical information resource available on the internet. UpToDate is designed to get the concise, practical answers needed at the point of care. Web SitesOnline Resources: Drug DigestAt Drug Digest you can access easy-to-read reference materials on topics ranging from drugs, vitamins, and herbs to breakthrough medical research and state-of-the-art disease management. Through their free eBulletin service, they provide readers with the latest news and research on the health conditions that matter the most. In addition, Drug Digest provides Drug Interaction and Drug Comparison sections. Drugs.com Drugs.com is a consumer-oriented, comprehensive and up-to-date source of drug information online. Provides free, accurate and independent advice on more than 24,000 prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines and natural products. Includes features such as pill identifier, interactions checker, drug side effects, and new drug approvals. More professional drug information resources are available within these sections: Epocrates offers products for mobile devices within various price ranges. Epocrates Rx is the free drug and formulary reference that puts continually updated, peer-reviewed drug information at your fingertips. Instant access to drug prescribing and safety information for more than 3,300 brand and generic drugs is available. National Library of Medicine Drug Portal This resource provides the public, healthcare professionals, and researchers with a gateway to current, accurate, and understandable drug information from the National Library of Medicine and other key government agencies. The Drug Information Portal offers a varied selection of resources and focused topics in medicine and drug-related information, with links to individual resources with drug information and summaries tailored to various audiences.
