AccessMedicine is an online resource that provides services for physicians, students, and health professionals who need immediate access to authoritative and current medical data. AccessMedicine is updated daily with the full text, graphics, images and illustrations of the most recent editions of medical reference books.

ClinicalTrials.gov
ClinicalTrials.gov provides regularly updated information about federally and privately supported clinical research in human volunteers. ClinicalTrials.gov gives you information about a trial's purpose, who may participate, locations, and phone numbers for more details.

Cochrane Library
The Cochrane Library consists of a regularly updated collection of evidence-based medicine databases, including The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effectiveness, Cochrane Controlled Trials Register, Cochrane Methodology Register, NHS Economic Evaluation Database, Health Technology Assessment Database, and Cochrane Database of Methodology Reviews.

DARE (Database of Abstracts and Reviews of Effects)
DARE contains summaries of systematic reviews which have met strict quality criteria. Included reviews have to be about the effects of interventions. Each summary provides a critical commentary on the quality of the review. The database covers a broad range of health and social care topics and can be used for answering questions about the effects of interventions, as well as for developing guidelines and policy making.

DynaMed
DynaMed is a clinical reference tool created by physicians for use primarily at the point-of-care. Dynamed features nearly 3,000 topics. It is updated daily as a result of the monitoring of over 500 medical journals and systematic evidence review databases.

EBSCOHost
EBSCOhost is a database provider that allows you to search multiple or single subscription databases. The EBSCOhost link will bring you to a Choose Database page where you can select the databases you wish to search. WesternU subscribes to the following databases through this service: Academic Search Elite, Alt-Health Watch, Business Source Elite, CINAHL, Health Source Nursing/Academic Edition, Newspaper Source, Health Source Consumer Edition and Clinical Pharmacology.

MEDLINEplus
MEDLINEplus is the National Library of Medicine's web site for consumer health information. This information can be used to assist in patient education.

National Guidelines Clearinghouse (NGC)
The NGC is a public source of evidence based clinical practical guidelines. It offers clinicians a searchable free resource for clinical practice.

OTseeker
OTseeker is a database that contains abstracts of systematic reviews and randomized controlled trials relevant to occupational therapy.

PEDro
PEDro is the Physiotherapy Evidence Database. It has been developed to give rapid access to bibliographic details and abstracts of randomized controlled trials and systematic reviews in physiotherapy.

PubMed
PubMed is the National Library of Medicine's search service that provides free access to over 11 million citations in Medline, PreMedline, and other related databases.

ScienceDirect
ScienceDirect is a single source for scientific, technical, and medical information on the Internet. Researchers can access journal titles and full-text articles and search the abstract and indexing databases.

Web of Science
The Harriet K. and Philip Pumerantz Library's subscription to Web of Science includes Science Citation Index Expanded and Journal Citation Reports. Science Citation Index Expanded provides access to current and retrospective bibliographic information, author abstracts, and cited references found in approximately 5,900 scholarly science and technical journals. Journal Citation Reports (JCR) is a resource that allows you to evaluate and compare journals using citation data, this commonly known as the impact factor of a journal.

American Physical Therapy Association
The mission of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the principal membership organization representing and promoting the profession of physical therapy, is to further the profession's role in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of movement dysfunctions and the enhancement of the physical health and functional abilities of members of the public.

California Physical Therapy Association
The California Physical Therapy Association is a Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association, which represents more than 66,000 physical therapists and physical therapist assistants nationwide. As the third largest Physical Therapy association in the world, the California Physical Therapy Association remains the largest voice for the physical therapy profession in the state of California.

Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy
The Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy develops and administers the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) for both physical therapists and physical therapist assistants in 53 jurisdictions – the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. These high-stakes exams assess the basic entry-level competence for first time licensure or registration as a PT or PTA within the 53 jurisdictions. The Federation also works towards desirable and reasonable uniformity in regulation and standards through a process of strategic planning and ongoing communications between the jurisdictions.

National Rehabilitation Association
Not long after Congress passed the National Rehabilitation Act of 1920, the National Rehabilitation Association (NRA) began its commitment to persons with disabilities. As the oldest and strongest advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities, our mission is to provide advocacy, awareness and career advancement for professionals in the fields of rehabilitation. Our members include rehab counselors, physical, speech and occupational therapists, job trainers, consultants, independent living instructors and other professionals involved in the advocacy of programs and services for people with disabilities.
