Clinical Evidence
Clinical Evidence summarizes the current state of knowledge about the prevention and treatment of clinical conditions. These summaries are based on thorough searches and appraisals of the literature and describe the best available evidence from systematic reviews, randomized control trials, and observational studies where appropriate. It does not make recommendations.

Cochrane Library
The Cochrane Library consists of a regularly updated collection of evidence-based medicine databases, including The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effectiveness, Cochrane Controlled Trials Register, Cochrane Methodology Register, NHS Economic Evaluation Database, Health Technology Assessment Database, and Cochrane Database of Methodology Reviews.

DynaMed
DynaMed is updated daily and monitors the content of over 500 medical journals and systematic evidence review databases directly and indirectly by using many journal review services. Each publication is reviewed cover-to-cover, and each article is evaluated for clinical relevance and scientific validity. The new evidence is then integrated with existing content, and overall conclusions are changed as appropriate representing a synthesis of the best available evidence. Through this process of systematic literature surveillance, the best available evidence determines the content of DynaMed.

EBSCOHost
EBSCOhost is a database provider that allows you to search multiple or single subscription databases. The EBSCOhost link will bring you to a Choose Database page where you can select the databases you wish to search. WesternU subscribes to the following databases through this service: Academic Search Elite, Alt-Health Watch, Business Source Elite, CINAHL, Health Source Nursing/Academic Edition, Newspaper Source, Health Source Consumer Edition and Clinical Pharmacology.

images.MD compiles over 70,000 images from 100 collections, covering all aspects of internal medicine, from allergy to cardiology to neurology to urology, each accompanied by detailed and informative text contributed by more than 2000 medical experts.

LactMed
LactMed is a free peer-reviewed database included in NLM's TOXNET system of databases. It covers information on drugs and lactation and currently has over 450 drug records. The records include maternal and infant drug levels, effects on breastfeeding infants, effects on lactation, and alternate drugs to consider.

PubMed is the National Library of Medicine's search service that provides free access to millions of citations in Medline, PreMedline, and other related databases.

UpToDate is a comprehensive evidence-based clinical information resource available on the internet. UpToDate is designed to get the concise, practical answers needed at the point of care.

Web of Science
Web of Science provides access to Science Citation Index Expanded and Journal Citation Reports (JCR). Science Citation Index Expanded includes current and retrospective bibliographic information, author abstracts, and cited references found in scholarly science and technical journals covering a range of disciplines. JCR is a resource that allows you to evaluate and compare journals using citation data drawn from scholarly and technical journals from publishers in multiple countries. Citation and article counts are indicators of how frequently current researchers are using individual journals. By tabulating and aggregating citation and article counts, JCR offers a perspective for journal evaluation and comparison.

The aim of the Directory of Open Access Journals is to increase the visibility and ease of use of open access scientific and scholarly journals thereby promoting their increased usage and impact. They define open access journals as journals that use a funding model that does not charge readers or their institutions for access.
