About COMP-Northwest

COMP-Northwest is the approved new campus of WesternU. It will be built on the 50-acre Samaritan Campus Center adjacent to Lebanon Community Hospital in Lebanon, Oregon. The Northwest campus' parent organization, COMP Pomona, has educated osteopathic physicians for 31 years, with a total of 3,417 physicians graduating since 1982.

This latest expansion of Western University continues the commitment of COMP to medical education in the Northwest, which began some 31 years ago and was enhanced with the development of the Northwest Track, which now matures as a four-year program known as COMP-Northwest.

Key elements of the new medical school:

The first class of 100 students will begin classes in August 2011.
The four-year enrollment will total 400 students
A 54,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility will be built on the Samaritan campus adjacent to the Samaritan Events Center and a hotel complex.
Student housing and small commercial outlets are also anticipated.

COMP began educating students in its Northwest Track (NWT) in 2004, with 30 seats reserved for students from the Northwest. Twenty-five students from the NWT graduated in in May 2008, with eight in residency training in the Northwest.
