Message from the Dean

Educating caring and compassionate physicians who also are lifelong learners has been the mission of WesternU s College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific since its inception in 1977. The establishment of a permanent COMP-Northwest campus in the Willamette Valley will help further that mission, while simultaneously addressing the health-care needs of residents throughout the Northwest region. We will achieve our goal – educating osteopathic physicians from the Northwest in the Northwest to practice in the Northwest – by attracting students with outstanding personal and academic qualities, and teaching them to recognize and develop the knowledge, behaviors and skills necessary for the effective and compassionate practice of medicine.
