Ellen Daroszewski, PhD, APRN is a tenured Professor in the College of Graduate Nursing at Western University of Health Sciences and Director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program. She has practiced in a variety of nursing settings over a 30+ year career in nursing. She has been an educator since 1985 and has taught nursing at the LVN, ADN, BSN, MSN, and doctoral levels. She has earned a BS in Psychobiology from UCLA, a BSN and MSN from CSU Dominguez Hills, and a PhD in nursing from UCLA. She is certified as a Public Health Nurse, and has two advanced practice certifications, as an NP and as a CNS. She received Board Certification as an acute care NP in 2001. Her NP training was completed at CSU Los Angeles.
Dr. Daroszewski spent three years as a Vulnerable Populations Fellow at UCLA and is most interested in primary prevention and the health care of vulnerable populations in the community. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the H Street Clinic at the Central City Lutheran Mission which is a faith-based social service agency in San Bernardino, one of the poorest and underserved areas in urban America. Dr. Daroszewski served as PI for the recently completed Restaurant Research Study which examined the effect of ethnic restaurant food on the blood pressure and serum lipids of healthy adults. Data from this study was presented in July 2008 at the Sigma Theta Tau 19th International Nursing Research Congress Focusing on Evidence-Based Practice and Globalization of Research Through Technology, in Singapore. |
