Jan Boller, PhD, RN is Associate Professor and Director of the ADN to MSN Program. She has 15 years of experience as a critical care staff nurse, clinical educator, clinical nurse specialist, and was the Program Development Director at the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN), responsible for educational programming at AACN's National Teaching Institute and other national and international critical care education programs. Jan received her PhD in Nursing from the University of California, San Francisco, her Masters Degree in Nursing from California State University, Long Beach, a BS degree in Applied Sciences from Nebraska Wesleyan University, and a Diploma in Nursing from Immanuel Hospital School of Nursing in Omaha, Nebraska.

After receiving her PhD, Dr. Boller held positions as Director of Clinical Effectiveness for Sutter Solano Medical Center and St. Luke's Hospital in the San Francisco Bay Area. She was Assistant Professor at Samuel Merritt College School of Nursing. She is Project Director for the White Paper for Nursing Education Redesign for California, at the California Institute for Nursing & Health Care (CINHC). The White Paper on Nursing Education Redesign was funded by a grant from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. Jan has also coordinated the Magic in Teaching Conferences for nurse educators, co-sponsored by the Board of Registered Nursing and CINHC, and funded in part by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. Jan is co-author of Daily Miracles: Stories and Practices of Humanity and Excellence in Health Care. (2006. Published by Sigma Theta Tau International). Daily Miracles received an AJN Book of the Year Award.
