Lisa Miklush, MSN, CNS is an Associate Professor in the MSN-E program. Lisa began working part time at Western University in 2005 as an OB clinical instructor. The following year she became the lead OB instructor. She currently teaches pathophysiology and pharmacology. Lisa earned a BSN and an MSN from Azusa Pacific University and is currently finishing her PhD at the University of San Diego. She also has a Lactation Educator certificate from the University of California San Diego. Her primary focus is in the area of maternal-child health, where she has worked as a bedside nurse, prenatal educator, maternal-child clinical nurse specialist, and NICU clinical nurse specialist. Lisa also has experience in quality management and hospital education. Areas of research interest include the provision of breast milk to vulnerable neonates, neonatal pain management, and prenatal health outcomes. Her dissertation will examine outcomes of neonates who have sustained a prenatal brain injury.
