Rotation description:
The Community Pharmacy Clerkship at Hendricks Pharmacy is designed to provide various experiences necessary to prepare students to become entry-level community pharmacy practitioners with an emphasis in collaborative practice based disease state management. Students will be involved in direct patient care activities in a collaborative practice based travel medicine clinic and will attain competency in destination specific and risk-avoidance counseling, vaccine administration, and travel-related medication recommendations. Opportunities exist to help develop additional collaborative practice based disease state management programs at Hendricks Pharmacy. Students will be assigned various projects throughout the rotation and are required to present a journal club as well as a 30-minute presentation that is given to the rest of the staff, faculty, and students at the pharmacy.
