Course Description - Livestock Mixed I
The goal of this course is to expose students to the practice of food animal medicine and the production systems involved. Students will be active participants in the diagnostic and therapeutic management of patients including physical diagnoses, patient care and therapeutic problem-oriented decision-making. Emphasis will be on individual animal as well as herd health preventive programs, population medicine, records analysis, facility evaluation and animal welfare issues. Students are expected to continue building basic science knowledge in a clinical setting and develop clinical sciences understanding through self directed study.
