Faculty Affairs & Development

Message to Faculty from the Provost:

Western University of Health Sciences is a unique institution with a distinctive mission and vision. A vibrant and engaged faculty are a critical component of our success in the cultivation of humanistic, health care providers and contributing to the advancement of bio-medical knowledge.

As a campus, we have witnessed the significant advancement of the faculty involvement in the affairs of the institution.

Although significant impetus came from the WASC accreditation process, it is evident that the concept of shared governance is a natural state for WesternU, given our collaborative environment and focus on graduate health sciences. Although my position is interim in nature, my goal is to sustain and enhance the efforts undertaken to date to assure that we continue on the established successful trajectory.

This webpage is designed to assist faculty and students with accessing the most frequently needed information. The Office of Academic Affairs will provide additions and changes to assure the webpage meets your expectations. Everyone is encouraged to visit the site and provide input and feedback on changes that will help assure that is beneficial.

Dr. Sheree Aston, Dr. Elizabeth Rega and I look forward to working collaboratively on behalf of the students, faculty and staff of Western U to assure that the functions of the office are sustained during this transitional period. More importantly we aspire to serve as an effective academic leadership team who engages the WesternU faculty, staff and students in our mission while continuously demonstrating our institutional values.   We appreciate the opportunity to serve and thank each of you for your contributions to the success of Western University of Health Science.

Steven W. Friedrichsen, DDS
