I was born in Egypt, and moved to California at a young age. I grew up in a family filled with dentists. While the mouth is a fascinating bacterial environment, it was definitely not for me. Biological sciences have always interested me, and I find the human body to be intriguingly mysterious. I love playing (almost) all sports. As such, biomechanics, physical medicine, and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine have particularly piqued my interest. Andrew Taylor Still’s tenets of osteopathic medicine align seamlessly with my belief and approach to treating patients. The NMM/OMM department and COMP as a whole embody the osteopathic philosophy. I look forward to enhancing my teaching skills, medical knowledge, and leadership throughout this experience. Ultimately, this opportunity will allow me to teach and influence osteopathic medical students while I strive to become a caring, compassionate, and competent osteopathic physician.
