Building the Health Care Workforce”



David B. Reuben, M.D.David B. Reuben, MD is Director, Multicampus Program in Geriatrics Medicine and Gerontology (MPGMG) and Chief, Division of Geriatrics at UCLA Center for Health Sciences. He is the Archstone Foundation Chair and Professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He is also director of the UCLA Claude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Center. Dr. Reuben’s current research interests include redesigning the office visit to improve healthcare for older adults.
In 2008, Dr. Reuben received the Joseph T. Freeman Award by the Gerontological Society of America and the John M. Eisenberg Patient Safety and Quality Award for Research – Joint Commission and National Quality Forum (NQF), for Assessing Care of the Vulnerable Elderly (ACOVE). He also served on the Institute of Medicine (IOM) committee to produce the 2008 report on “Retooling For An Aging America: Building The Heath Care Workforce.”
