In 2008, Dr. Reuben received the Joseph T. Freeman Award by the Gerontological Society of America and the John M. Eisenberg Patient Safety and Quality Award for Research – Joint Commission and National Quality Forum (NQF), for Assessing Care of the Vulnerable Elderly (ACOVE). He also served on the Institute of Medicine (IOM) committee to produce the 2008 report on “Retooling For An Aging America: Building The Heath Care Workforce.”
