This logo was first introduced in 2003 and is intended to be used as a single unit, not as separate elements. Consistent use of the logo enhances the University\u2019s recognition.<\/h4>\n<h4 class=\"p1\">The circle contains the University name, the osteopathic caduceus modified with a torch, mountains representing the University\u2019s Southern California location, and the Latin phrase <i>Educare, Sanare, Coniunctim<\/i> \u2014 which translates to To Teach, To Heal, Together \u2014 the University\u2019s original positioning statement.<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">The WesternU logo, name, seal, and wordmarks are the property of Western University of Health Sciences. Any unauthorized use or misuse is prohibited.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;font-weight: 400;letter-spacing: 0.18px;color: #333333\">The fonts used in the logo text are New Baskerville, a strong, stable font with custom scaling and kerning, and is offset by the simple and modern Stone Sans Bold.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;font-weight: 400;letter-spacing: 0.18px;color: #333333\">The logo is available in horizontal and vertical versions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Do not allow the University logo or wordmark to appear blurry or pixelated. High resolution raster and vector logos are available for download.<\/li>\n<li>The only acceptable colors for the University logo are all black, all white, or all burgundy. Choose the appropriate color so that the University name or logo remains legible (ex. a white logo on a dark background).<\/li>\n<li>The logo should be used in the approved forms and may not be altered \u2014 including by rotating, stretching, adding or removing elements, recreating, changing the colors, or rendering in 3-D.<\/li>\n<li>Do not place text or graphics over the logo.<\/li>\n<li>Do not shrink the logo so that it cannot be reasonably read.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a consistent margin of clear space around the logo at all times.  block text-white\">Our Name<\/span>\n\t\t\t<\/h2>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"wysiwyg-content t-p2 mt-24 text-white\">The University should be referred to by one of only two names: \u201cWestern University of Health Sciences\u201d or \u201cWesternU.\u201d Unlike logos with symbols or icons, a wordmark relies solely on typography to convey the brand\u2019s identity, making it effective for building name recognition.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\nWhy is this so important? \u201cWestern\u201d does not distinguish our brand or convey our unique position as a comprehensive graduate university for the health professions.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\n<b>There are two University wordmarks: The full University name and WesternU<\/b><br \/>\r\n<li>Serif font (New Baskerville).<br \/>\r\n<li>Upper and lowercase letters<br \/>\r\n<li>No space between WesternU<br \/>\r\n<li>Unique letter spacing (tracking) and line spacing (leading) have been applied for a clean, professional appearance.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\n\u201cWestern,\u201d \u201cWestern University,\u201d \u201cWU,\u201d \u201cWUHS\u201d or any other combination of names, or any acronyms, are not acceptable. <\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n and Department Lockups<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\">A more modern and flexible approach to the university brand that prioritizes our University name recognition, eliminates redundancy and confusing details, and accommodate a wide-range of uses in print and digital media.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">There are two types of lock-ups depending on the audience:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>external audiences should see our full name wordmark and internal audiences should see the WesternU wordmark.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><b>External Audiences<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><strong>The full wordmark should be used for new audiences unfamiliar with, or external to, the University including prospective students, prospective employees, broad social media audiences and donors.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p3\">This elevates \u201cHealth Sciences\u201d to equal stature and is legible at small sizes.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\">It will work well in a variety of media including email, social media, promotional items and apparel.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\">It is not necessary to use the seal with these new lock-ups, but it is an option.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\">There
