Obtaining your 1095-B form for 2019
Distribution of the form 1095-B has changed for the 2019 tax year. The form will be available for 2019 on the Aetna member’s portal under “communication”.
The form shows if a member met the Affordable Care Act (ACA) minimum essential coverage requirement known as the individual mandate. Because the tax penalty for failing to meet this mandate has now been reduced by Congress to zero, the IRS indicated in its notice that “an individual does not need the information on Form 1095-B in order to compute his or her federal tax liability or file an income tax return.”
As there is no penalty regarding minimum essential coverage, the form will no longer be mailed to a member’s address, with the exception of New Jersey and Washington D.C which still require a paper form be mailed to members. Forms were to start becoming available on 01/20/20 for the 2019 reporting year.
Students can view/print their tax form online in the member portal under “Messages” under the “Letters and Communications” tab. If they don’t want to go through the portal, students should call 1-855-531-6837 to request a duplicate form. If they need as SSN updated the student can update the SSN online via the member portal and immediately see the corrected 1095-B form online there.
Holiday Closure Notification, 12/17/2019
Western University of Health Sciences will be closed for the winter holiday beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2019. The Office of the Registrar will reopen at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, January 6, 2020. All service requests received after 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2019, will be processed upon our return on January 6, 2020.
Should you require official transcripts or certification of enrollment during the winter break, electronic versions of these items can be obtained via the Student Portal.
Electronic PDF Transcript
Once you have logged into the Student Portal, expand the ‘Personal Info & Student Record’ section of the Quick Links menu. Current students can order an electronic PDF version of their transcript via the ‘Request Official Transcript’ link (see number 1 below). Alumni can access our transcript ordering site directly via the National Student Clearinghouse. Electronic PDF transcripts will be electronically mailed within 15-30 minutes to the recipient you provide. Please make sure that your recipient will accept electronic PDF transcripts. Once your recipient opens the transcript, it will expire within 30 calendar days. Once an order is submitted, the email recipient cannot be changed.
Electronic Enrollment Verification
Current students can obtain an enrollment certificate using the ‘Request Enrollment Verification’ link via the Student Portal’s Quick Links menu (see number 2 below).
